Midzomernacht. De goedhartige Dunderklumpen voelt zich eenzaam en gaat op zoek naar nieuwe vrienden. Hij vindt de knuffels van de kinderen Camilla en Jens. Zonder aarzelen blaast Dunderklumpen ze leven in en samen gaan ze ervandoor. Jens zet – met papa in zijn zog – meteen de achtervolging in. Het wordt een avontuurlijke expeditie vol muziek en plezier. Bizarre wezens vrolijken de tocht op en bedrieger Eénoog zorgt voor spanning. Kinderfilmklassieker die live action beelden fris en origineel combineert met animatiefilm. Het fijne verhaal wordt perfect ondersteund met fantastische muziek van Toots Thielemans. Een waar meesterwerk.
